How long does it take to dispatch my order?

Dispatch timelines vary depending on the artwork.

Once dispatched, most deliveries within India arrive in 3–7 business days, depending on the destination and weather. International delivery timelines vary by country.

How are the artworks packaged?

Every artwork is packed with great care using protective materials suitable for its size and medium. Original paintings and framed artworks are packed securely to minimise the risk of damage during transit.

What if my artwork arrives damaged?

While every effort is made to ensure your artwork reaches you safely, if your package arrives damaged, please email unedited, without break video & photographs of the package and the artwork within 24 hours of delivery. I’ll work with you to find the best possible resolution.

Can I request express shipping?

If you have a specific deadline, please get in touch before placing your order. I’ll do my best to accommodate your request whenever possible.

Orders & Commissions

Do you accept commissioned artworks?

Yes. I take on a limited number of commissions throughout the year. If you’re interested in commissioning a painting, please get in touch through the Contact page or email me with your idea.

Can I customise the size of a painting?

Yes. Many artworks can be created in custom sizes. If you have a specific wall or space in mind, I’d be happy to suggest dimensions that work best.

Can I request changes to an existing artwork?

Some changes, such as size, colour palette, orientation or composition, may be possible depending on the artwork. If youre looking for some more personalised, it’s always better to go for a commissioned painting.

Can a sold artwork be recreated?

Yes. Most artworks can be recreated and customised with changes in size, colour palette or overall feel to suit your space. Artworks that are intended to remain unique are clearly marked as “One of a Kind” and are not recreated.

How does the commission process work?

Once we discuss your requirements, I’ll share the recommended size, pricing, timeline and any other details before work begins. Your commission is confirmed once the advance payment is received. I’ll keep you updated at key stages until the artwork is ready for dispatch.

How detailed should my brief be?

You don’t need to have every detail figured out. I love hearing the story behind your commission, the space it’s meant for, or the feeling you’d like it to evoke. Once I understand the vision, I create the artwork in my own style, leaving room for creativity and interpretation.

Will I see the artwork before it’s shipped?

Yes. You’ll receive photographs of the completed artwork before dispatch to ensure you’re happy with the final piece.

Can changes be made after the artwork is completed?

Minor refinements may be possible before the artwork is varnished or packed. Significant changes after completion may not always be possible, as each painting is created by hand and develops organically.

Is an advance payment required?

Yes. An advance payment is required to confirm your order and reserve a place in my commission schedule. The remaining balance is payable before dispatch.

Do you work with interior designers, architects or businesses?

Yes. PurplePirateCo regularly collaborates with interior designers, architects, hospitality projects and brands to create original artworks, illustrations and site-specific commissions. Please get in touch to discuss your project.

Can I commission a painting as a gift?

Absolutely. Commissioned artworks make meaningful gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, housewarmings and other special occasions. If you’re working towards a specific date, please get in touch as early as possible so I can advise on timelines.

Original Paintings

Are all the paintings original?

Yes. Unless otherwise mentioned, every painting listed as an original is hand-painted by Deepti Ahluwalia Sinha. No two originals are exactly alike.

Some paintings are sold framed, while others are offered as rolled canvas or unframed works. The framing details are clearly mentioned on each product page.

If a painting is sold framed, it arrives ready to hang. Unframed artworks and rolled canvases will require framing or stretching after delivery. Please refer to the individual product description for details.

Will the painting look exactly like the photographs?

Every effort is made to photograph artworks as accurately as possible. However, slight variations in colour may occur due to differences in screen settings and lighting conditions.

Can I request a different size of an existing painting?

In many cases, yes. If the artwork is suitable for recreation, it can often be created in a different size or adapted to suit your space. One-of-a-kind paintings are clearly marked and cannot be recreated.

Can I view a painting before purchasing?

If you’re in the Delhi NCR region, feel free to get in touch to discuss viewing options. For collectors elsewhere, I’m happy to share additional photographs, close-ups or videos of the artwork before purchase.

How should I care for my painting?

Keep your artwork away from direct sunlight, excessive humidity and prolonged exposure to moisture. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid using water or cleaning products on the painted surface. Can original paintings be returned?

As original artworks are one-of-a-kind, they are not eligible for return or exchange. Please refer to the Returns & Cancellation Policy for complete details.

Do you paint from photographs?

Yes, for pet portraits, pictures are my only source of reference.

For other subjects- Sometimes. While reference photographs may be used when appropriate, every painting is interpreted in my own artistic style rather than reproduced exactly. The finished artwork reflects my creative process and visual language.

Art Prints & Canvas Prints

What is the difference between an art print and a canvas print?

An art print is printed on 300 GSM matte stock paper and is ideal for framing behind glass. (Usually used for prints based on my watercolour paintings)

A canvas print is printed on artist-grade canvas, offering the look and feel of an original painting.

Every effort is made to represent colours accurately. However, slight variations may occur due to differences in screen settings and device displays.

Paper prints are best framed behind glass using acid-free mounting materials.

Canvas prints can be stretched over a wooden frame or professionally framed according to your preference.

Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, moisture and excessive humidity. Handle paper prints with clean, dry hands and dust framed artworks gently with a soft, dry cloth.

Can I return a print?

No. Purchasing a print gives you ownership of the physical artwork only. Copyright and reproduction rights remain with the artist. The artwork may not be copied, reproduced or used commercially without written permission.

How do I hang my artwork?

Framed artworks arrive ready to hang. Unframed artworks and rolled canvases should be professionally framed or stretched before display. Please ensure you have a stable hook to hang the paintings. Purplepirateco cannot be held responsible for damage caused during framing, Installation, handling, accidental impact, or improper storage after the artwork has been delivered.

To help preserve your artwork, avoid hanging it in direct sunlight or areas with excessive humidity. A dry indoor space away from prolonged heat and moisture is ideal.

How do I clean my artwork?

Dust framed artworks gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid using water, cleaning sprays or abrasive materials on the artwork or frame.

Can I display artwork in bathrooms or kitchens?

I don’t recommend displaying original paintings or paper prints in areas with high humidity or frequent temperature changes. If you’re unsure whether a space is suitable, feel free to get in touch before purchasing.

Will the artwork fade over time?

With proper care and by avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, your artwork can be enjoyed for many years. Using UV-protective glass when framing paper prints can provide additional protection.

Can you recommend a framer?

I don’t recommend specific framers. A reputable local framer will be able to guide you based on the artwork and your preferred framing style. If required, I can share the framing specifications for your artwork with your chosen framer.

Returns, Cancellations & Refunds

Can I cancel an order for an art print or canvas print?

Yes. Orders for art prints and canvas prints may be cancelled within 24 hours of placing the order, provided production has not already begun.

To request a cancellation, please contact me via email, WhatsApp or Instagram DM as soon as possible.

Can I cancel a commissioned or customised artwork?

As commissioned and customised artworks are created specifically for you, cancellations are accepted only within the first 48 hours after the advance payment has been received.

Once work has commenced, materials have been procured or the creative process has begun, the commission cannot be cancelled and the advance paid is non-refundable.

As every commissioned artwork is discussed and planned in detail before work begins, cancellation requests after this period will only be considered under exceptional circumstances.

Can I return an original painting?

Original paintings, including commissioned and customised artworks, cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded.

Each artwork is carefully inspected before dispatch, and clear photographs and videos are shared for approval where applicable. Once approved and dispatched, the sale is considered final.

If your artwork is damaged during transit or you receive an incorrect item, please contact me within 24 hours of delivery so that I can help resolve the issue.

Can I return an art print or canvas print?

As every print is produced to order, returns and exchanges are generally not accepted.

However, if you receive a damaged, defective or incorrect print, please contact me within 24 hours of delivery with the required photographs and an uncut unboxing video. I’ll review the issue and arrange an appropriate resolution, which may include a replacement or another suitable remedy.

Please note that slight variations in colour between your screen and the final print are a normal part of the printing process and do not qualify as defects.

What if I receive the wrong artwork or print?

If you receive an incorrect item, please contact me within 24 hours of delivery.

Once the issue has been verified, I’ll arrange to send the correct artwork or print at no additional cost. Depending on the nature of the order, you may be asked to return the incorrect item, or you may be requested to keep it.

What if my order is delayed?

While every effort is made to dispatch and deliver orders on time, delays may occasionally occur due to adverse weather conditions, courier disruptions, public holidays or other unforeseen circumstances.

Once dispatched, most orders within India are delivered within 3–7 business days, although delivery times may vary depending on your location.

Can I request expedited dispatch or delivery?

Yes. If you require your order urgently, please get in touch before placing your order.

Where possible, expedited dispatch and express shipping can be arranged. Additional charges will apply for both priority processing and expedited delivery.
